| Fashion show - an annual fashion show exposes the students to the entire garment of activity involving development of a garment from its concept to a finished product and its effective display. Over the years many themes have been used as a source of inspiration for the show. Apparel lines inspired from North East India, Traditional textiles of India, Natural dyed fabrics, Tie-dyed fabrics have been showcased in the past. The fashion display is shown as Studio Image. In December 2003 the students staged the show Nature psychology at Asian Textile Conference, which was quite appreciated. |

Sanjam Randhawa Memorial Conference - An annual activity initiated in February 2003, in memory of Mrs. Sanjambir Randhawa , the founder head of the department. In the last two years the focus was on Textiles Traditions in India and Natural Dyes. For year 2004 the identified theme was Clothing for Special Needs: a perspective. It acts as a guide to students and professionals in the field to prepare for the challenges ahead and provides direction to the academia from Institutes and Colleges for further research and contributions towards the enrichment of Textiles Traditions and Apparel. In the conference a Book of Papers is also released which documents the departmental research along with the presentations made during the conference. Three such Books of Papers have been compiled

Crafts Mela - To make the students appreciate the traditional Textiles of India master-craftsmen are invited to the college in the Crafts Mela. This activity was initiated in 2003 where the theme was use of Natural dyes in traditional textiles. The craftsmen gave a lecture demonstration to the students of the use of natural dyes in their traditional textile art and also put up an exhibition of their masterpieces. In 2004 the theme was Embroidered Textiles of India. Craftsmen excelling in the art of Phukari, Chamba Rumal, Sozni , Gujarat Embroidery, Kantha, Kashidakari and appliqué of Pipli |
