'Mukhauta' is the theatrical expression of Lady Irwin College. Society provides an experimental platform to every experienced and aspiring member. The society focuses on creating a new idiom in theatre involving students in developing their own scripts on life centred issues, specially for street plays addressing topical themes. The series of hard work and enthusiasm builds up its body and young abstract ideas makes up the face. Every year as the students present their annual productions they learn and add more to the shell of their knowledge.

Theatre is the most beautiful expression of humanistic art. The liveliness leaves the audience mesmerized and thoughtful. Here is a brief overview of what all has been done by the society as the annual production.

TIRICH

Directed by Shoumyavrat Chatterji, this play is one of the best performances by the college. It highlights the mythical aspect of a village where 'tirich' has been portrayed as the evil myth.

APANA APANA JOOTA

A self directed production was yet again a package of finest ideas made alive by strong actors. This play roused the issues related to corruptions of the contemporary world. The script writer Surendra Verma is known for his abstract yet layman's language plays.

Achievements: Performances at C.B.S, FIICI, L.I.C., NSD, IITD.

TEESRA ADAMI

Inspired by the success of previous year, this production was a self directed one. In lieu of the social concerns it raised the evils like extortion, prostitution, murder and as many as one could perceive. Highly abstract, this production gave a wide platform for the most difficult and novel ideas that could be used on stage.

Achievements: 2 nd position Durga Deolkar one act play L.I.C., Best actress I.P. College.

OLYMPICS 2004

A street play production in the guidance of Mr. Dinesh khanna. This play talked of the ignored issues of sports personalities who play the less glamourised games like weightlifting, hockey, shooting etc. Even after the long hours of hard work they are accused of drugs and other irrelevant activities.
